2020 St. Blarry Red Field Blend
2020 marks the first year we were able to harvest a small amount of St. Laurent from our Biodynamic Vineyard and create a field blend from our two favorite Austrian red grapes.
We continue to connect our Austrian roots to California soil with our unique plantings of two classic Austrian red grape varietals, St.Laurent and Blaufränkisch. We fermented using only native yeast and bottled by hand, unfined and unfiltered.
When the bottle is first opened aromas of fresh cut purple flowers and wild blackberries jump out of the glass. On the palate, it's juicy tart red fruit with some savory notes of tomato leaf and earth. With time the wine opens up and offers more spicy aromas with notes of fresh ground coffee and black pepper. Low alcohol, only 11%, and super fresh fruit notes make it a perfect match for anyone reaching for a chilled red. Try it with your next BBQ or with a mushroom ragu.

Fermentation: Basket pressed. Native yeast in open container, no additions

Aging: 10 months in one neutral oak barrel
