Typically grown in the Austrian region of Burgenland near the Hungarian border, Blaufränkisch (translated as "the blue french-like grape") is rarely seen planted domestically. We’ve have found that the California sun adds wonderful warmth and brightness to our Estate Blaufränkisch while still maintaining its signature, earthy blue fruit.
The 2020 vintage is turning out to be our most complex yet. Starting with an elegant nose centering on the tropical fruit and citrus notes that make our Blaufränkisch so unique. Upon tasting you will experience a beautiful mix of raspberry, pomegranate and blue fruit along with herbal tones of all spice, basil and eucalyptus. The finish is lengthy and bright with citrus, grapefruit pith, cocao and lightly roasted coffee bean.
While young enjoy this wine after a 1 hr decant especially with Thanksgiving turkey and all the trimmings as well as a host of other holiday meals.
