Typically grown in the Austria region of Burgenland near the Hungarian border, Blaufränkisch (translated as "the blue french-like grape") is rarely seen planted domestically. We’ve have found that the California sun adds wonderful warmth and brightness to our Estate Blaufränkisch while still maintaining its signature, earthy blue fruit.
A mix of passion fruit, blueberry, mango, lavender and pomegranate on the nose with hints of allspice and graphite. The flavors simultaneously take on elegant floral notes, bright fruit as well as earth and midweight tannins. The finish is lengthy and bright with just enough tannins to provide structure.
Enjoy this wine especially with grilled veggies and various rustic chicken and meat dishes, lamb tagine, goulash, pork loin and meatloaf.
