2018 St. Laurent
Our first vintage of St.Laurent! We are inspired to connect our Austrian roots to California soil with Ricci's rare planting of the classic Austrian red grape, St.Laurent. We fermented using only native yeast and bottled by hand, unfined and unfiltered.
Described by many as Pinot Noir's funky cousin, we love this expression of St.Laurent. The aromas lead you to believe this is going to be a big, bold dark red with notes of smoke, leather and tobacco but on the palate it's bright with notes of tart red fruit.
Varietal: 100% St. Laurent
Vineyard: 100% Ricci Vineyard, Carneros, Sonoma County
Fermentation: Native yeast in 1.5 ton open containter, no additions
Residual Sugar: None
Aging: 10 months in neutral oak, no racking, minimal S02 only at bottling.
