2017 Grüner Veltliner
Santa Ynez Valley
This is the most popular grape in Austria! Grüner Veltliner is a great alternative to Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc. Grün means green and this color is definitely noticable in the glass. Aromas of green apple, white pepper, melon and slight hints of lychee lingers on your palate. Pear and citrus notes follow with a zesty lime twist as a finish.
Grüner is indeed food friendly; pairing well with fish, summer soups, spring salads and vegetables including hard to match items like asparagus. We especially love it with a traditional chicken, pork or veal schnitzel!
